Georgia on my Mind

I often get asked what my favorite type of photography is, and I don’t have to even think about it…babies!! I love photographing babies and capturing their innocence. This little baby name is Georgia and I met her mother, Kelly at the Parenting & Kid Expo in August. I just bought this tutu recently and was so excited to be using it for the shoot. It photographs so well and looks so cute on Georgia. Then Georgia’s Mom had these adorable bloomers, and I like using things that belong to the baby and it really enhanced the image. These photographs I created of Georgia are timeless are something very special that they will treasure for a lifetime and that makes me happy to be part of their memories.

Baby Shoes

I love when photographs have a story behind them like this one with the baby shoes. These shoes were Kathleen (the Mother-to-be) when she was a baby. Kathleen’s mother saved her baby girl's shoes all these years, and at Kathleen’s baby shower she gave them to her as a gift. I wanted to do something extra special to emphasis the shoes, so in Photoshop, I used a filter that put a spotlight on them.

Benjamin & Eugene

Back in July, I had a maternity shoot (see blog entry – July 4, 2008) for a woman that was expecting twins. The babies, Benjamin & Eugene finally arrived and their Mother called me to set up a photo shoot with them!! Since, we had done the maternity shoot at a park; I had never been to their home. I walked in and immediately was attracted to the accents of lime green in their living room. When I saw that the babies each had lime green blankets, I could not resist using the color for their photos. This was my first time to photograph twins, and to get both not crying at the same time was a challenge. We did manage to get a handful of photographs of the boys together. Benjamin and Eugene are on my baby plan so there will be future blog entries of these adorable babies.

Isabelle

One Saturday in August, Ben & I drove to Beverly Hills to photograph a wedding. It was an ideal setting @ the All Saints’ Episcopal Church on Camden Drive, and the Bride getting ready next door at the parsonage. The bedroom was gorgeous with lots of room to move around and not bump in to the many people that come in and out of a bride’s room (like hair stylish, make up artist, bride’s party and family). Emily (our bride) was stunning with her hair adorned with white flowers. The flower girl was her daughter, Isabelle. I love this photograph of Isabelle near her Mother’s bouquet wearing a lime green dress. What is really special for Isabella, she got to witness her parents getting married. Although, Isabelle is too young to remember her parent's wedding, she will have these photographs to treasure.
